Barry The Misunderstood Bat    A$ 5.00
Barry is hand carved from black stone and is quite detailed. He is approx one inch wide and makes a good pocket charm.

Bats are some of the worlds most misunderstood creatures. They are a diverse, social and intelligent species. Contrary to popular belief they generally have good eyesight, though they do rely on sonar signals for direction and navigation. They are also unique as the world's only flying mammal and for sleeping upside down.

Their nocturnal, cave dwelling habits have seen bats become associated with "fears" the devil, medieval witchcraft, madness, evil, the unknown and chaos; as well as vampires. However in other cultures e.g. China - bats are considered very lucky.

The Magickal associations of bats include the ability to see into the unknown, to see things in a different way, new directions, self awareness, and to emerge from the darkness (addictions, unhappiness, grief etc). Thus bats are often associated with Rebirth, Initiation, and Guides.

Witches Bottles    A$ 25.00
The concept of these "Witch Bottles" or "Spell Bottles" has been around since at least the 1500's as an ancient form of Folk Magick used to ward off evil spirits and protect yourself from your enemies; as well as deflecting the bad intentions back from where they come. They were probably called witches bottles because they were once specifically used to keep the curses of a witch away.

When building a new house a witches bottle might be included in the construction e.g. placed under the fireplace, inside the walls, or under the floor beneath the front entranceway etc. as a form of magickal guardian. These ancient bottles are still turning up today in old British houses, as they were quite popular again in the 1800's.

Nowadays modern magick can be combined with traditional charms and used to create a protection talisman for yourself and your property - the bottles being used to symbolically draw in and trap any hostile intentions or negative energy and/or reflect it back. Comes with a laminated information card on the history of Witches Bottles and modern instructions for use.
